SGCC Impact Testing
In testing safety glazing, we test tempered glass for proper breakage, laminated or organic-coated glass for penetration. Laminated glass film or interlayer degradation by subjecting three 12″ x 12″ samples to a boiling water bath. The samples are placed into the impact chamber and a 100-pound bag, specific to the standard, strikes the glass, simulating the energy that a person impacting the glass would generate.
Quality Testing, Inc. utilizes the following Safety Glazing test standards:
- ANSI Z97.1
- CPSC 16 CFR 1201
