*It may be necessary for us to come to the job site before offering any kind of quote to review the test sample and conditions of the installation etc.
Why should I have a field test done?
Typically, field testing is a part of a project specification from the architect. The specification should include the test method and also the test pressures involved. The most common test required is the Water Resistance test but may also include Air Infiltration. It is important to understand what the project requires so that you are prepared for the testing. These tests should be performed early in the construction project. This will identify any anomalies early and allow you to take remedial action on products and their installation before they are installed. This is normally an easier and more cost effective approach.
Field testing may also be an important part of litigation. Often times, a window or door is accused of being the source of a water leakage problem. However, properly performed field testing can show that the initial water penetration may be coming from some other part of the building envelope and/or the perimeter installation rather than through the window itself. Quality Testing can help you in determining the best approach when defending yourself during a litigation proceeding.
The following is a partial list of the test methods that we have performed for various projects. Please feel free to give us a call or email us at info@qtitest.com to discuss your field testing needs.
