Quality Testing, Inc. was founded in 1990 in response to the need for additional thermal and structural testing facilities in the Western United States. We are specialists in testing for the Window, Skylight, Door and Commercial industries, with the added capacity to allow testing other building elements.
With three guarded hot box Calorimeters Quality Testing is the largest independent thermal testing laboratory west of the Mississippi. Our dedicated structural chamber is capable of static pressure testing of fenestration and other products to over 100 PSF.
Accreditation: Quality Testing was the first laboratory world wide accredited by NFRC for Simulations and Thermal Testing. In addition, we are accredited by AAMA and WDMA for their structural and thermal performance programs.
Thermal Analysis: Quality Testing’s three thermal chambers include a dual configuration, which allows simultaneous testing of two samples. Our larger single chamber allows testing of full 8’ 0” X 8’ 0” wall or window sections. Our FLUKE Data Acquisition system is capable of recording nearly 200 data points in time increments of 1 second or greater. All three chambers feature controllable air velocities and temperatures, which allow more flexibility in test parameters.
Our Thermal simulation facility, with one part time and two full time simulators, uses the latest in approved software and equipment for quick and accurate results. Our staff has performed thousands of NFRC simulations for Factory Built window, skylight and door products and has the most experienced NFRC Commercial window, wall and slope glazed simulation staff in the nation.
Structural Testing: Our in house structural test chamber is fully configurable to allow test samples as large as 13’ 0” x 8’ 0”. Our box style chamber allows access to both sides of the test sample without the need to remove the sample from the box. This avoids the time and expense of removal and re-installation typical of wall type facilities. This feature is particularly valuable when doing R & D testing. Our static pressure facility is designed for air, water and structural testing to approximately 100 PSF. The air and water systems are adjustable to allow special testing options. In addition we maintain a skylight structural table with adjustable pitch from 0o to 45o and have tested products to over 300 PSF.
In addition to our in house structural test facility we maintain the capacity to perform field testing to ASTM and AAMA specifications.
